FILMMAKING CAMP

What do you do when you love movies? You watch them or… you make them.

Kinelink’s filmmaking camp is a program that teaches participants what it takes to make a film, from concept to screening. Here’s how it works: we launch a call for applications, participants express interest, we form the working team, and then we get down to business. We identify the subject, action, characters, write the script, handle pre-production, film, edit, and finally… premiere the film. This whole whirlwind typically lasts between two weeks and a month, but depending on the project’s complexity and the number of participants, we can adjust with maximum flexibility.

We like to believe that the filmmaking camp has two components: first and foremost, it is thematic, and secondly, it is transformational.

Why thematic?

Together with the participants, we decide on the idea for the film to be produced during the camp. Once the subject is outlined, participants choose one or more missions, ensuring that with their help and that of experienced mentors in the field, we cover all stages of filmmaking: writing and adapting the script, creating the storyboard, casting actors and selecting characters, choosing locations and set design, costume details, filming, editing, sound design, and more. We also include less obvious roles such as graphic design and communication skills for the film’s launch and promotion.

We strive to integrate participants as much as possible into activities that align with their skills, desires, or interests. Above all, we aim to stimulate their own vision and contribution to achieving the team’s common goal.

“What do you mean by transformational?

We aim for the Kinelink filmmaking camp to be more than just a practical learning opportunity. Therefore, we will encourage participants to express their creativity in an environment that allows them to be independent while teaching them the essence of teamwork. We’ll strive to stimulate their expressive abilities, communication skills, and their ability to present ideas and opinions in a collaborative context that values both individual contribution and collective process. Ultimately, today’s world doesn’t offer many opportunities to fully enjoy achieving a goal where you can identify both your own contribution and how you collaborated with others. So, every time we’ve organized it, the camp has fostered a special emulation and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.

Badminton Love – short film

What do you do when you have talented, beautiful, and mischievous young people around you? Well… you make a film about talented, beautiful, and mischievous young people. “Badminton Love” is the first “serious” comedy produced at the Kinelink filmmaking camp and it was such an intense experience for the camp participants that four of them later chose media or arts-related faculties. The Kinelink filmmaking camp is a project where participants experience the atmosphere of film production over two intense weeks. They are involved in all stages of filmmaking: from writing the script to filming, editing, and finally distributing and promoting the film.

Lampiridae – short film

What do a meteorite, fireflies, and a beach have in common? Nothing. And yet… we found a connection through the story of a new production at the Kinelink filmmaking camp. The Kinelink filmmaking camp is a project where participants experience the atmosphere of film production over two intense weeks. They are involved in all stages of filmmaking: from writing the script to filming, editing, and finally distributing and promoting the film.

Let's collaborate.
